Timesaving ways to Introduce SAM Learning to Colleagues

  • Invite ICT representatives from core subjects to a computer suite during departmental meeting time. Before your colleagues arrive, go to login to SAM Learning on a few of the computers. Show our PowerPoint Presentation, then ask them to navigate around the service making sure to cover the four aspects of the service (above) and provide written comments.
  • As part of a Heads of Department meeting ask staff to login to SAM Learning before or after the meeting and navigate around covering the four aspects of the service (above). Collect written feedback.
  • Set http://www.samlearning.com as the default page in the browser on the staff room computer. Notify staff at a weekly staff briefing that SAM Learning is available. Put up our poster in the staff room (it has login instructions). Leave an Evaluation Form next to the computer (with attached pen) for their feedback.
  • We find asking staff to look at SAM Learning at their leisure and/or putting notes in people's pigeonholes are NOT effective.

Introducing SAM Learning to Learners

  • At the outset it's worth introducing SAM Learning to small groups of Learners, perhaps at lunch/break time or after school. Perhaps use SAM Learning as a whole-class activity once a small group have used it. This ensures are no technical problems and you know the login procedure for Learners.
  • After Learners have used SAM Learning suggest to those with home Internet access to try SAM Learning in their own time.
