If you are unable to view the drag and drop revision exercises the probable cause is that you don't have Java installed on your computer. Java is a free piece of software which is required in order for the exercises to run correctly

To download, install and configure java, please follow these instructions;

1. Click Here to open the Java Download site.

2. Click on the green download button next to the online installation for your operating system.

3. The following window will open - Click on the 'Run' button.

4. You will then see the download progress screen. This may appear for several minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

5. You may receive further messages which will ask you to confirm that you wish to install the software - agree to this.

6. You will then be guided through the installation process.

7. Once Java has finished insalling, open Internet explorer and select 'Internet Options' from the Tools menu at the top of the Internet Explorer window. If you are unable to see the Tools menu, press the 'Alt' key on your keyboard followed by the 'T' key.

8. In the Internet Options window click on the Advanced tab towards the top right.

9. Scroll down the list displayed until you see 'Java (Sun)', about half way down. Ensure there is a tick in the box labelled 'Use JRE...'

10. Look below the 'Java (Sun)' entry. If you have an entry below that entitled 'Microsoft VM' make sure that none of the three boxes under the heading are ticked

11. Once the installation process is complete restart your PC and check whether you are now able to access SAM Learning revision exercises.

12. If you are still unable to access the exercises click on the Tools menu and select 'Internet Options' from the list of options.

13. Select the 'Programs' tab at the top and then click on the 'Manage Add-ons' button

14. Check that all instances of 'Java Plug-in' and 'Sun Java Console' are enabled. If they have 'Disabled' in the Status column then click on the name and then select 'Enable' below. Please note that there may be more than once incedent of Java in the list.

15. Click on 'OK' and then restart your browser window. You should now have no problems accessing SAM Learning revision exercises.
